It’s true that some people still view business marketing and MLM network opportunities with a jaundiced eye. That’s too bad, because today’s network marketing companies are well designed, well regulated and successful enterprises creating an amazing amount of wealth for many people.

A New and Regulated Breed of Success

MLM stands for multi-level marketing and it’s a term seldom used anymore. There reason for this is that early in the industry there were some unfortunate incidences of companies that created compensation plans which worked only for those at the top of a pyramid shaped sales force. You could sell all the products you wanted at the lower levels, but unless you regularly signed up new distributors there were no commissions past the first couple of levels.

In a “pyramid scheme”, the business eventually collapses when new distributors are not signed on. The business marketing and MLM network opportunities that are available today have no relationship to the early scams. Network marketing is a legitimate way to sell products or services through the use of distributors.

In a network marketing company, you’re rewarded for selling your products or services even if you don’t sign up new distributors. Everyone has an equal chance to reach their financial goals no matter if they are the first or last person to join the company. The interesting result of this is the fact that anyone can also become a top network sales marketer and surpass anyone already working in the business.

Legitimate business marketing and MLM network opportunities have the blessing of the Federal Trade Commission too. The Amway Corporation was the first network marketing company to be ruled as a legal and appropriate business model. The standards that were set in 1979 are still applied today in order to regulate the industry for the protection of participants and buyers.

Mainstream Business

Network marketing offers plenty of opportunity for those who wish to earn lucrative income. Every year, thousands of people join a network marketing company looking for a way out of the job rat race. The business marketing plan associated with network marketing is used by large corporations, because it’s proven to be such a successful way to generate sales.

What this means is that there is a lot that network marketing can teach people about successful selling. Business marketing and MLM network opportunities focus on issues like building marketing skills, making new sales, organizing a new business, becoming a leader and recognizing opportunities. These are all skills which can be used not just in network marketing, but in other types of business plans.

Network marketing is here to stay. You don’t want to use the term MLM anymore, because of its negative connotations. But you can use the term “wealth building” to signify business marketing and MLM network opportunities all you want, because that’s exactly what you can do through network marketing.
