I’m beginning a series of biographies on the top 20 small business
gurus on the planet. Why? Well, first of all, they are all highly successful
in their respective businesses. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying,
“if you want to be a canary, study canaries.” Another reason
is many of these professionals devote a lot of time to their team members
at absolutely NO COST. The ones that charge for their products and services,
using the research I’ve personally done over the last four years,
are absolutely worth every penny.
Now I’m not on this list, but I’m chasing after these people
as fast as I can; you should be too if you want to become a successful entrepreneur.
Do you hate salesmen? You know who I’m talking about…the slick
person that sold you something that you really didn’t want to buy.
If that person was someone you already knew, you probably have been avoiding
that person ever since. I don’t blame you. I have been in that exact
same spot…many times.
I remember the very first time I heard the term “consultative approach”
to marketing. Does it have anything to do with sales? Yes and No. Yes, because
if the consultant succeeds in fulfilling a need, want or desire you have…there
is a SALE. And no, because there was no selling; you BOUGHT a solution to
whatever you wanted to accomplish, fix or avoid. I don’t care if it
was that ugly haircut that took two months to grow out, or a car you didn’t
have the budget to own. If you broke down and bought it, friend…it’s
now yours. Ever try to take a brand new car back for a full refund within
30 days? Yeah, right! Some of the professionals I’m going to talk
about in this series of biographies will give you your money back AT ANY

So, let me get out of the way and begin to introduce some mighty smart folks

#1 You know, this one was a no-brainer …I’d actually like to
see him get into politics, but he isn’t a citizen of the USA.
Dr. Ken Evoy, President and CEO of SiteSell.com is the “larger than
life”, ultimate embodiment of entrepreneurship. If you are contemplating
any kind of home-based business you need this ‘top gun’ guarding
your backside. He helps any business entity: real estate brokers, beauty
salons, shade-tree mechanics, hobbyists, stay-at-home-moms, plumbers, struggling
college students, and OK, I’ll stop now.
How did he accomplish so much? I’m sure it would help us if we knew
his IQ, but that would be rude to ask; let’s just look at his work
and his commitment to it.
After considerable research (digging, really), I was able to read from Dr.
Evoy’s original source of ‘seed money’ and inspiration
needed to eventually launch Site Sell.com. But before I tell you about that
pivotal project, I want you to know some personal background:
• He earned his college degree (Honors in Anatomy, with a 4.0 GPA)
from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
• In 1975 he entered McGill’s Medical School; upon graduation
he taught and practiced medicine in the ER.
• In 1985 he and his wife started a business inventing and licensing
toys and games. The venture made millions, and created a celebrity status
for him in Montreal.
• In 1993 he decided to learn golf (Dr. Evoy states directly: “My
analytical abilities are my best strength…and I applied them full-force
to the golf swing.”) By 1996 he was teaching Canadian pros how to
play THEIR OWN GAME.
Now, back to the seedling project that became the world-wide powerhouse
company known as SiteBuildIt.
He had earned money as an inventor; now he wanted to invest it and watch
it grow. He quickly learned why “Wall Street insiders” are called
by that name. After way too much time, with so little monetary gain, Dr.
Evoy saw into the problem: “I decided to use the Internet to broaden
the choice. I gathered all my loose-strewn notes and rough database…and

was Penny Gold, and taught everyday investors how to earn from trading penny
stocks.
From there, he wrote Make Your Site Sell (MYSS) that became the foundation
of what is now a collection of online tools to allow everyday marketers
